DR John Montgomery

Following in his father’s footsteps, John decided he, like his father, would be a Veterinarian.  Dr John (otherwise known as Dr J) graduated from Melbourne Uni with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc).  After years of working in Orbost, Eden, and the surrounding districts, he moved to the big smoke of Canberra, well actually the 60 acres now known as Sonza. After working part-time in another Veterinary Clinic in Canberra, he established the kennels and the veterinary practice in 1991. John is an ANKC licensed judge for obedience (Novice) and breed (Utility and Gundog groups). In addition he is the on track Veterinarian for the Canberra Greyhounds.

Lisa

Lisa is a great member of the team and has been known by management as “the boomerang”.  Lisa has been employed by Sonza for the past 9 years, but has had periods of leave to have children; two sons aged 8 and  6.   Lisa is a valued and vibrant member of the team who strives for perfection and is a hard worker.

In her life out of work, Lisa spends time with her husband, and children, as well as focusing her attention on breeding and showing miniature horses (Shangdamara Miniatures).  An avid pet lover, Lisa has four dogs and five cats.

Ben

Ben has been an asset to the team at Sonza since December 2007.  He is one of our junior staff members, and keeps us up to date on how the world is changing!

At the moment Ben is currently in the middle of a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Political Sciece, at the Australian National University. While he doesn’t know what his future will hold,he hopes to be able to find a job in the Australian political sector.

Ben resides in the nearby town of Queanbeyan and attended St Gregory's Primary School and St Edmunds College for his schooling.

Ben’s family has one dog, named Dalby, who is a Shitzu x Toy Poodle who has very much become a member of the family.

Nicole Oshyer

Nic is currently studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing via distance education.  She is a very multi skilled person who wears many hats.  Nic had a career change from human nursing to working with animals several years ago.  Her and her partner, Storm, own DOG WORLD in Hume, and Nic works there several days a week grooming many of the regions good looking dogs and then nursing here several days a week.  Nic is a great asset to Sonza.  She has a vast knowledge of breeding, grooming and dog showing and adapted well to the change from human nursing to caring for all of your beloved pets. 

With four children, and number five on the way, Nic has very little spare time!  The little spare time she does have, she spends with her family, studying, dog showing and breeding Dobermanns and German Pinchers.

Nicole Harding

Nicole is currently studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and has successfully completed her first year.  Well done Nic!   Nic joined us in mid 2008 after a career change and she has become a highly valued nurse with a great enthusiasm for all aspects of her work.  She is highly motivated and strives to do her best and has fitted in so well as part of our dynamic team. 

In her spare time, Nic loves spending time with her partner, Garth and their pets, George – the Bichon Frise, Storm – the Great Dane X, Oliver and Archibald – the domestic shorthairs, and lastly Leon – the Cockatiel.  She also enjoys motorbike riding, reading and socializing with her friends.
